Test

Any Questions?

Bryce too wanted to pee on a stick to see if he could have a baby.  He was quite excited about me taking the test but also worried that I was going to pee the baby out.  He keeps asking to pee on the other stick because the test came in a two pack.  Please join us in prayer for a healthy pregnancy and baby.

Two-Vehicle Crash Sends Owasso Woman To Hospital

August 21st, 2008 by Justin

By Paul Waldschmidt, staff writer Sand Springs Leader - 08/21/08

The accident occurred in the eastbound lane of U.S. Highway 64, just west of the 81st West Avenue exit at 2:15 p.m.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Quenton Payne said a 2003 Chevrolet pickup truck, driven by Juan Alaniz Amezcua, of Seattle, Wash., had stopped in the outside eastbound of U.S. Highway 64 to retrieve a piece of furniture that had fallen off another vehicle and which was partially blocking the highway.

A 1997 Ford Contour, driven by Chelsey Hill, 23, of Owasso, “swerved to miss the object on the roadway” and struck Amerzcua’s pickup truck in the rear, Payne said in his report.

The impact sent the pickup truck across three highway lanes, witnesses said.

Sand Springs firefighters had to use hydraulic power tools to extricate Hill from the wreckage of her car.

Hill was pinned in her car for 30 minutes. She suffered head and leg injuries and was taken by ambulance to St. Johns Hospital in stable condition, Payne said.

Amezcua was not injured.

FF Overcome By Temptation

July 27th, 2008 by Justin

An intervention is in the works, as Lt. Jeremy Wade was caught losing his battle of the bulge recently at the “Cop Shop” err I mean Donut Shop. FF Stephen Brewer called out “Noooo!, Where is that Navy Discipline,” But Lt. Wade did not waver, he even assigned someone to watch for B Shift Life Fitness Coach, Driver Phillip Stephens, knowing that Phillip would remind him of his plumpier past.  J Dawg - It is your fault, you are alone, but as your brothers we are calling you back to the other side!

Noooo! Where’s That NAVY Discipline          Somebody Watch Out For Phillip

Denial is the first indicator, so if you ask Lt. Wade about this he will probably tell you that he was sent by Admin to get donuts for the Green Country Fire Chief’s Meeting - how despicable is that.

Mini Vacation

July 12th, 2008 by Justin

We decided to take Bryce on a mini-vacation. So we loaded up the car and headed to Independance, Kansas. You are probably thinking what is there to do in Independance - for a 4 year old there is plenty. Riverside Park has a Zoo, huge playground, a train ride for a quarter, miniature golf, Merry-Go-Round for a nickel, and Riverside Beach Waterpark. Our hotel has a indoor pool as well, which has proved useful since RBW got rained out. Bryce has had a smashing good time and it has been worth every minute seeing him just enjoying himself.

Gift Helps Burn Camp

May 31st, 2008 by Justin

By Caitlin Getchell, Sand Springs Leader - May 28, 2008

SAND SPRINGS–A special camp for youthful victims of burns is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.

The Tulsa Firefighter’s Burn Camp will be Aug. 13 to 17 this year at Camp Dry Gulch.
The camp is for any child or teenager, ages 5 to 16, who have suffered burn injuries at any point in their lives. Gift Helps Burn Camp

The camp is provided to the kids free of charge, which is one reason a donation from Wal-Mart in Sand Springs meant so much.

Sand Springs Wal-Mart manager Teressia Kehr gave a $1,000 donation to the program Tuesday.

“We are 100 percent volunteer and 100 percent of the donations go to the camp or the burn apartment,” Sand Springs firefighter Barry Molencupp said.

Molencupp also serves as the president of the Tulsa Firefighter Clowns. The same organization that organizes the burn camp, educates the public about fire safety and keeps an apartment available for the families of burn victims being treated at the Alexander Burn Center.

The Tulsa Firefighter Clowns pay the rent and bills for the apartment and make sure it is furnished.

Molencupp said that anyone interested in donating for the burn camp or the burn apartment can contact him on his cell phone, 810-4987.

Registration for the burn camp in August is still open. To find out more about the camp visit www.tfdclowns.com and go to the burn camp link. Or call Scotty Stokes, the burn camp director, at 371-6351 or 857-6351.

Bryce is 4 Years Old!

May 13th, 2008 by Gwenn

It is so hard to believe that Bryce is 4 years old.  It seems like only yesterday he was born.  What a delight he has been and he continues to be.  Bryce wanted a brother or sister for his birthday and since that was impossible he settled for a puppy.  We looked at many dogs and he decided he wanted a Westie.  We had to wait a long time for the puppy and Bryce would ask all the time about when his puppy would be ready to come home.  Smokey Reggie Hall was born March 10, 2008 and we finally were able to pick him up on May 4th.  Watching Bryce play with Smokey and seeing the smile on his face was priceless.

On Tuesday, February 26th Justin was named Sand Springs Firefighter of the Year.  I am so very proud of him and his accomplishments.  Justin has really inspired Bryce to follow in his footsteps.  Bryce wants to be just like his Daddy– a fireman.  He says that when he gets Big he is going to be a fireman and get an award just like his Daddy.  Way to go Justin you really deserved it!
